Katherine earned her Bachelor’s in Molecular Biology in 2016, her PhD in Human Genetics in 2021, and her MD in 2023, all from UCLA. She then pursued residency training in Neurology at Harvard-Mass General Brigham. Katherine’s undergraduate training in bioinformatics/computational biology led to her interest in systems immunology, and in her PhD research, she studied the specificity of innate immune responses and developed mathematical models of gene regulatory mechanisms controlling cell function and cell fate during inflammation. Katherine joined the Tsai Lab in June 2023, where she is interested in investigating the dysregulation of the innate and adaptive immune systems in neurodegenerative disease.
