Eric obtained his MD and MSc in neuroscience from China Medical University, Taiwan, in 2024. As a physician-scientist, he has long been interested in how fundamental science aids in delineating mechanisms of brain diseases and developing novel therapies for neurological disorders. Before he joined Tsai Lab, he studied mechanisms underlying the translational failure of neuroprotective drugs and how microglia-neuron interaction serves as a potential therapeutical target for stroke. Eric joined Tsai Lab in 2025 as a doctoral student in the Brain and Cognitive Science program. He is interested in neuroimmunology in the context of Alzheimer’s disease and how GENUS communicates with peripheral organs through the vagus nerve.
